A question I would like to pose to everyone on this blog, as stupid as it may seem. Is there a method to improve the resolution of an oil immersed, KÖHLER illuminated light microscope image?

Ok, thank you. I did not consider mechanical limitations.
Assuming you’ve set all of the diaphragms really carefully, the limitation of resolution at x1000 magnification is limited by the quality of lenses within the microscopes you’re using. The lab microscopes, while good quality, are still student level machines, and therefore the lenses within the objectives, and particularly the condenser, are not that high quality. The only way to improve the image is to use a better microscope!
