Another good day in the lab today, did another dna extraction of dog testes and ran electrophoresis. Felt alot more confident with the techniques, just using a pipette without asking a million times ‘is this the right amount’?? is a big plus. Practice does make perfect (well, alot better anyway). cant wait for tomorrow.

Pipetting is one of the most important and, to an extent, one of the hardest skills to master. Please, if any of you reading this is not confident with pipettes, just ask for a demonstration and tutorial. If you master pipetting, everything you do will be more successful, and it will mean we don’t have to shell out hundreds of pounds to replace the pipette you just broke!!
